I had a chance to talk with a couple of the executives at TalkPlus today. Their service is a mobile telephony management service which marries IVR, PBX functions, and identity management to create a one-stop shop for mobile security and privacy and call management. Here are a few things you can do with their service:
- Get a TalkPlus number to use for inbound and outbound calls. Have this number appear as your caller ID to everybody, just to a group, or to everybody.
- Handle different TalkPlus numbers (these are just DIDs on their end) in different ways. So, some calls can always go to voicemail, while others can hunt for you until you’re found.
- TalkPlus voicemail is superior to most cell phone voicemail solutions because it includes e-mail forwarding, unlimited storage, and different greetings for different TalkPlus numbers.
- When receiving a call, the TalkPlus server will step you through the IVR process of whether or not you want to receive the call, send it to voicemail, or give it a busy signal.
Really cool stuff. 2.0. And they say VoIP support: Skype and SIP (a la Gizmo and Asterisk) is coming soon. So, it won’t just be for cell phones and landlines at that point.
Oh, and if you’re a VoIP geek looking for a job, give these guys a shout. Their looking for Linux / Asterisk programmers and product management people.
