On another note, Apple today introduced a movie download service, new iPods, and a syndication deal with the National Football League. The movie download service is limited to Disney films (Steve–aren’t you on the Apple board or something… need to scroll up the RSS reader a few months). Also, it’s now called “the iTunes Store” and not the “iTunes Music Store”. In retrospect, the use of the word “music” was redundant. Now, it DOES look as though DVD burning is NOT an option for downloaded movies, leaving the question of “how you gonna watch it” unanswered. I don’t want to tote my Macbook around the den with me, especially considering how it still shuts itself down randomly.
More than one person at last night’s VON events seemed to expect Apple to introduce the much-fabled “iPhone”, but they didn’t. For the record, I’ve had my bets on the movie download deal for several months. I just can’t believe it took this long.
