
Catching up on some recent blog posts, I read about Russ’s disappointment with the fact that the Zune audio player, which has WiFi, will not support using the WiFi connection for the purchase of digital music content. Sure, this sucks. But what sucks worse is that it can’t be used for livestreaming podcasts and other forms of free content. This essentially makes the Zune the same as the iPod. I’m guessing Microsoft thinks that’s all they need to do is replicate the iPod, not beat it. Sounds like classic Microsoft to me. Of course, Uncle Bill is already four years late to the music player party…
